Sutterville Preschool is a parent-participation preschool which focuses on the developmental needs of children. The school program endeavors to help children develop physically, socially, emotionally and intellectually through activities that require both individual and group participation.

A handful of interested mothers incorporated Sutterville as a non-profit cooperative preschool in 1952. The corporation’s program is a parent participation preschool under the direction of professional early childhood education specialists and an Executive Board elected by the general membership. The role of the executive board is to run the business of the school. They are responsible for raising money, maintaining the building and equipment and hiring the teaching staff.

Sutterville Preschool has been housed in five locations over the past 50 years. Our current permanent facility located at 5520 Gilgunn Way in Sacramento, California was constructed and occupied in 1982.
